Emergency Freezer Trailers for Rent, Refrigerated in Eden
KryoFridge delivers refrigerated cold storage rentals to Eden, the Ogden Valley, and every road in between, with same-day emergency dispatch when a walk-in dies mid-shift. Call now or request a free quote and we will have a unit rolling toward the valley today.
Eden's most-requested refrigerated cold storage rentals
The kitchens and food businesses that lose the most from one warm hour are the ones with our number taped to the office wall. McDonald's, Chick-fil-A, and Dutch Bros Coffee all trust KryoFridge trailers to protect inventory, and many more national restaurant and grocery brands do the same. That roster is the whole pitch. We are a licensed and insured company backed by more than 30 years in the rental industry, we own every trailer we send out, and you deal with us directly from the first call to pickup. Request a free quote online or just call, and a real person who knows the valley picks up.
One unit, both temperatures
Every trailer runs as a cooler or a freezer with a single digital setpoint from 50 above to 10 below zero. You rent the temperature you need this week and change it next week without swapping equipment.
The owner answers the phone
We own the fleet, dispatch our own drivers, and answer our own phone. No middle company marking up a trailer it has never seen. When you call about your unit, the person answering can walk out and touch one just like it.
Runs where there is no outlet
Our generator option means a working freezer on a wedding lawn, a trailhead, or a construction bench with no power for a mile. Fuel, sizing, and winter cold-start cycles are our problem, not yours.
Mountain delivery is our normal
Our drivers plan valley drops around grade, traction, drift lines, and door swing, and place units lee-side of the canyon wind so the door is not fighting you in February.
Food-safe between every renter
Interiors are washed and sanitized to food-contact standard before each rental, every time, no exceptions. What the last renter hauled never becomes your problem.
Licensed, insured, and fast
Same-day dispatch across Utah with 24/7 emergency response. Paperwork your venue, health inspector, or corporate office asks for is ready before they ask.
The national brands that trust us with their cold storage
The names below have all run our trailers on real jobs. When a brand this size hands you their frozen inventory, they have already checked everything worth checking.

multi-site accountEden customers, in their own words
"We rented a KryoFridge trailer for our outdoor wedding and it saved our caterer. Everything from the cake to the toast stayed perfectly cold through a hot afternoon, and the trailer was spotless inside. Nobody at the reception even knew it was there, which is exactly what you want."
Melisa V. · bride, Wolf Creek area"Rented one for a big family week at our place and it was honestly like having a second kitchen fridge the size of a room, super clean, held temp the whole time, will definitely book again."
Vincent R. · cabin owner, north valley"Clean unit, held our setpoint all week without a wobble."
Maria P. · deli manager, town centerMeet the 16' Utility, Our Signature Freezer Trailer
Every trailer we send up to Eden runs as a refrigerator or a freezer with one digital setpoint, so the same unit that holds wedding cake at 38 degrees in July can hold elk quarters at zero in October.
Ask any of our drivers which trailer they would send to a job that cannot fail, and they will point at the 16' Utility. Sixteen feet of insulated box rides on a tandem axle and swings from deep-freeze to fresh-cold on one digital set-point, every interior surface NSF approved. The rear doors swallow pallets off a loading dock while the side utility door gives your staff a quick in and out without dumping the cold air.
Every one of these is ours, not a unit we sourced from somebody else after you called. That means it arrives fueled, already pulled down to temperature, and serviced by our own shop. Plug it into a dedicated 120V, 20-amp circuit or run it on a generator we bring, and it will hold its number through the hottest week of the year.
| Spec | What you get |
|---|---|
| Temperature range | Roughly -10°F deep-freeze up to about 50°F fresh-cold |
| Mode | Dual-purpose: freezer or refrigerator on one precise digital set-point |
| Power | A dedicated 120V, 20-amp circuit within about 100 feet, or a generator we supply |
| Food safety | NSF-approved for direct food contact, food-safe surfaces, proper drainage |
| Footprints | 6x8, 6x12, and 6x16, from a tight retail lot to distribution scale |
| Backing | Owned in-house, fully licensed and insured, with 24/7 emergency dispatch |
Each unit holds a precise digital set-point and runs on a dedicated 120V/20A circuit or a generator. The trailers are not wired for 208 to 240V building service, so we confirm your hookup before the truck rolls.

Other ways valley businesses put our trailers to work
Cold storage needs in this valley come in three flavors that almost never overlap: quiet and urgent, loud and urgent, and planned months out. We built our Eden service around all three.

🍽 Race and event weekends
The Ogden Marathon staged its 2026 start on May 16, the Spartan Trifecta hit Snowbasin July 11 and 12, and UTMB brought its ultra series to the valley for the first time this summer. Vendor rows and finish-line food at these events run on rented cold storage because there is no walk-in on a mountain.

🛒 Resort construction and remodels
Powder Mountain broke ground on its new Sundown base lodge in summer 2026 as part of a 40 million dollar expansion. Construction catering and temporary kitchen setups during projects like that need cold storage on site for months at a stretch.

📦 Grocery and market overflow
Holiday weeks and summer weekends push small-town markets past their case space. A temporary cold storage trailer out back holds the overflow so the shelves up front stay full.

🎪 Hunting season
October brings the general rifle deer hunt, and the Monte Cristo country east of the valley fills with camps. Successful hunters and small processors both run out of chilling room fast. A trailer set to 34 degrees hangs a season's worth of game properly.

🚨 Outage insurance
The valley's power rides through one canyon. When Rocky Mountain Power scheduled a July 2026 overnight repair in Ogden Canyon, about 6,000 meters went dark at once. Businesses that had a generator-powered trailer standing by never felt it.

🏭 Cabin and family gatherings
Reunions, big holiday houses, and week-long family stays around Pineview outgrow a kitchen fridge fast. A small refrigerated unit in the driveway solves the whole week.
What ties these together is the clock. Nobody budgets a freezer trailer into next quarter. They reach for one the hour a compressor quits, or the evening before a party when the stack of rented ice chests suddenly looks laughably undersized. Since our units sit staged around Eden instead of a couple counties down the freeway, "can I get it today" is an ordinary ask here, not a stretch.
What a Cold-Storage Failure Actually Costs an Operation in Eden
Add it up the way an owner in Eden has to. One restaurant walk-in routinely sits on a small fortune in proteins, dairy, and prepped product. Scale that to a grocery rack or a warehouse freezer bay and the exposure balloons. Now knock the power or the compressor out on a triple-digit afternoon, and that whole inventory is in jeopardy inside a few hours. Then stack on the sales you lose while the line sits dark and the wages you burn paying staff to triage what can still be saved.
Hold a pre-staged trailer up against that risk and it reads like cheap insurance, a fixed, predictable expense parked in front of a loss with no ceiling. That is exactly why the businesses that got stung once tape our number by the phone. There is never a second scramble, because the next time they dial before the product has a chance to warm. Owning every trailer ourselves means we can scale the answer to fit. A single compact box suits a corner cafe. A clustered setup covers a warehouse floor. Either turns around the same day.
Why cold storage gets tested at 4,944 feet
Eden sits at 4,944 feet in a mountain valley that catches weather from both directions. Summer afternoons push toward 90 degrees under high-altitude sun that cooks anything left in an unshaded cooler at the lake, the market, or a lawn reception. About 90 inches of snow falls on the town in an average winter, three times the national average, and the valley floor is a cold sink where inversion air pools for days.
Both ends of that range break refrigeration. Heat is the obvious one: every minute a door stands open in July costs recovery time, and small compressors run flat out until they fail. The cold end is sneakier. People assume winter is free refrigeration. It is not. Product that should hold at 36 degrees freezes solid in a January cold snap, and equipment left to ambient temperature swings ruins as much inventory as any heat wave.
This is why a true setpoint matters more here than in a mild coastal town. Our units do not just cool, they hold, cycling as needed to sit exactly where you set them while the outside air swings 60 degrees between a February night and a July afternoon. Set 38 and it is 38. In this valley, that one sentence does a lot of work.
Cold storage for funeral and mortuary care
Utah law is exact on this. Under state rule R436-8-4, a body held more than 24 hours must either be embalmed or kept at 40 degrees or colder. There is no mortuary inside the Ogden Valley itself, so families and care facilities here work with funeral homes down the canyon in Ogden, and every one of those buildings has a cooler with a fixed number of spaces. When a cooler reaches its limit, or its compressor fails, or a hard week simply brings more loss than one building can hold, the answer is temporary refrigerated space that meets the statute. That is us.
These calls are unlike any other call we take. They are quiet. They are specific. And they deserve a vendor who does not treat them like a catering job. We place units discreetly, at a service entrance or behind a screen wall, with locking doors and a verified setpoint below the 40 degree line. Keys go to the people you name and nobody else.
County emergency planners think about this too. Mass-casualty plans across the country name refrigerated trailers as the standard surge resource for decedent care, because they are lockable, precise, and can be anywhere within hours. We have supported that kind of contingency work, and we keep units available for it across northern Utah.
If you run a funeral home, a hospice, or a care facility anywhere between Ogden and the top of the valley, put our number somewhere you can find it on a bad day. You may never need it. But the day you do, you will not want to start your search from zero.
The fleet we send up the valley
One trailer, two jobs. Set it anywhere from 50 above to 10 below zero and it holds there, day and night, whether it is parked behind a kitchen in town or on a bench lot up Nordic Valley Way. The interior is a washable food-grade box with a wide rear door, a side man door, and room for pallets or rolling racks. You load it like a walk-in because that is what it becomes.
We hold the power question to a hard rule on every Eden delivery. There are exactly two ways to run one of our units: a generator we provide, or a dedicated 120V, 20 amp circuit within 100 feet of the trailer. That second option costs you nothing to set up beyond an outlet check. The first option means the trailer runs where there is no outlet at all, on a lawn, at a trailhead, in a field. Tell us which one fits your site and we plan the drop around it.
We run one of the largest fleets of refrigerated and freezer trailers in the West, and the same equipment works statewide, from Saint George freezer trailer rentals in Utah's far south to the resort towns of the Wasatch Back. So when Eden businesses calls for three units on a holiday weekend, we are not scrambling to find them. They exist. They are ours. And a driver who has crossed Trappers Loop in January brings them up.
Walk-in backup for restaurants and commercial kitchens
Every kitchen in this valley is small. Carlos and Harley's runs its from-scratch Tex-Mex out of a historic general store building. Valley Market's deli, bakery, and freezer cases have anchored the town since 1993. The lodges at Powder Mountain, Nordic Valley, and Snowbasin feed thousands on a good Saturday. None of these buildings has a spare walk-in sitting empty, and none of them has room to build one.
So when a compressor quits, it quits at the worst time. Friday at 6 pm on a powder weekend, not Tuesday morning. The math is ugly and fast: proteins, dairy, prepped sauces, everything the line runs on starts warming the minute the cooler door seals stop mattering. Our answer is a portable walk-in freezer trailer at your back door, cooled to your setpoint before your staff loads the first rack. One of our restaurant saves went from first phone call to trailer on site in 34 minutes. That is the standard we chase on every emergency run.
But most of our restaurant work up here is not a rescue. It is planned overflow. Mountain kitchens sit a canyon away from their suppliers, and product comes up from Ogden distributors like the meat and cheese houses at the canyon mouths. A rented cold storage trailer behind the building during ski season or wedding season means fewer supply runs, bigger buys, and a line that never 86es the top seller on a Saturday night.
We do the same work across the Wasatch Back, where our freezer trailer rentals in Heber City carry resort kitchens through their own peak weekends. Different valley, same problem, same fix. Book the season, not the emergency, and the emergency mostly never comes.
Catering cold storage for weddings and off-premise events
The Ogden Valley marries people at scale. Wolf Creek Resort alone spreads weddings across its Mountain View Room, Homestead Lawn, and Clubhouse Patio on 2,800 acres right here in Eden, with lawn receptions running up to 200 guests. Add the balloon launch weekends at Eden Park, the Thursday evening Open Market from July through September, and concert nights at the little resort up the road, and you get a summer where somebody is feeding a crowd outdoors almost every single day.
Caterers working these events are a long way from their own kitchens. A crew coming up from Ogden or Salt Lake is an hour or more from its walk-in, and a catering van is not cold storage, it is a warm box with a logo. We drop a mobile refrigeration unit at the service edge of the venue on load-in day. Cake, dairy, proteins, garnish trays, and the bar ice all ride at a verified temperature until the moment they are plated.
The booking pattern that works: Thursday drop, Monday pull, for a Saturday wedding. Load-in day needs cold. Teardown day needs cold. Crews that book only the event day learn this once and never do it again.
And if your event season runs beyond this valley, so do we. Our Park City cold storage trailer rentals support catering crews working the Wasatch Back's resort calendar, with the same trailers and the same drivers. One vendor, every venue, all summer.
Setting the Right Temperature for What You're Holding
"Cold" is not one number. Different product stays safe inside different temperature windows, which is the entire reason a precise digital set-point matters, and in the middle of a heat wave in Eden, a load that slips out of its window is a load you write off. Use the chart below as the reference our customers lean on when they size a rental.
| Product | Target holding band | Trailer mode |
|---|---|---|
| Ice cream and frozen desserts | -10°F to 0°F | Deep freeze |
| Frozen proteins, seafood, prepared meals | 0°F or below | Freezer |
| Fresh meat and poultry (short hold) | 28°F to 32°F | Refrigerated |
| Dairy, deli, packaged produce | 34°F to 38°F | Refrigerated |
| Beverages, florals, catering trays | 38°F to 45°F | Refrigerated |
One figure outranks everything in that chart, and it is not listed there: 40°F. Food-safety guidance treats the band between 40°F and 140°F as the zone where bacteria thrive, and the clock on perishable product starts ticking the moment it crosses 40 on the way up. Roughly four cumulative hours above that line and most refrigerated inventory is no longer safe to serve. Picture that countdown running on a 100-degree afternoon in Eden with the walk-in dark, and the urgency of a quick trailer drop stops being abstract.
Tell us the single coldest item you are holding when you call, and we dial the trailer to that. One unit carries a straight freezer load with no fuss. But when your list mixes deep-freeze desserts with fresh-cold produce for the same remodel or event, we will usually point you toward a split setup or a second box so neither side of the load has to settle for the wrong temperature.
Power and Placement on Your Eden Site
Powering one of our trailers is refreshingly simple, and there are precisely two ways to do it. Either you have a dedicated 120-volt, 20-amp circuit reachable within roughly 100 feet of the parking spot, or we bring a generator. What the units will not accept is standard 208 to 240V building service, so a quick question about your outlet before dispatch heads off any surprise on delivery day.
- Dedicated outlet on hand? Most Eden kitchens and markets already have the right one, so we plug straight in and the unit begins pulling the temperature down.
- Open lot or event field? A generator keeps the trailer running anywhere, whether that is an event lawn or a warehouse yard.
- Worried about a shutoff? A unit on a generator keeps your cold chain alive when a fire-season power shutoff takes the surrounding grid down.
On placement, all the unit really asks for is a fairly flat patch with enough room for the delivery truck to maneuver it in and set it straight, plus either a power source in reach or space for a generator. We lock down the exact drop point before dispatch, and our drivers know the Eden layout cold, so the delivery is one clean trip instead of a guessing game on the property.
From the Field, Recent Saves Around Eden
Kitchen manager, Friday night walk-in failure
A valley kitchen lost its walk-in at the start of a sold-out ski weekend. We took the call at dinner rush, prepped a unit, and had their line loading racks into a trailer at their back door before close. They cooked all weekend and fixed the walk-in on Tuesday, on their schedule instead of in a panic.
Wedding caterer, lawn reception for 180
A Salt Lake caterer working a July wedding at a valley resort booked a refrigerated trailer for Thursday through Monday. Four days of cold covered load-in, the event, and teardown. Cake, proteins, and the bar program all held temperature through a 90 degree Saturday, and the crew stopped burning ice money by noon.
Facility director, cooler at its limit
A northern Utah care facility called on a hard week when its cooler space ran out. We placed a locked unit at the service entrance the same day, verified it holding below 40 degrees, and handed keys to two named staff. Quiet placement, no branding conversation, checked daily until the need passed.
We stock the valley, not just the city. Plenty of rental outfits will quote Eden from a Salt Lake yard and figure out the mountain part later. We stage equipment for the Ogden Valley on purpose, because a powder-weekend emergency cannot wait on a driver who has never seen Trappers Loop in a storm.
First Call to Final Pickup, Step by Step in Eden
On a bad day, booking should be the part that does not add stress. Four steps, an upfront number, and a single person who owns the whole thing.
1 · Describe the load
Tell us whether it is freezer or fridge product, a ballpark volume, and your rough window. That is enough for us to call the right size.
2 · We finalize size, power & spot
We pair you with a unit, confirm whether you have a dedicated circuit or need a generator, and pin the exact drop point so the truck makes one trip.
3 · Delivery and cold-down
We arrive on your schedule, about 45 minutes for a true emergency, set the trailer, energize it, and let it drive down to your number.
4 · Run it, reach us anytime
It holds the set-point for your entire term while our line stays live the whole way through. Wrap up, and we swing back for the pickup.
The food rules an Eden rental has to meet
Food permits here run through the Weber-Morgan Health Department in Ogden, and that did not change when the valley incorporated as Utah's newest city in January 2026. Anyone selling food at a temporary event in Weber or Morgan County needs a valid permit from the department, and permits do not transfer between people, businesses, or locations. Booths at temporary events are capped at four potentially hazardous foods each, and everything has to store at least six inches off the ground.
The number that rules everything is 41. Utah's food safety code requires cold-held TCS food to sit at 41 degrees or below, and frozen food to stay frozen, full stop. Inspectors check it with a thermometer, not a promise. A trailer with a digital setpoint and a closing door makes that check boring, which is exactly what you want an inspection to be.
Markets and grocery-style sellers answer to the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food's retail program on top of county rules, and outdoor market vendors carry the same cold-chain duty as a brick building. None of this is complicated with real refrigeration behind you. All of it is impossible without it. We have walked plenty of first-time vendors through what the inspector will look for, and we are happy to do it again.
What our trailers bring to a health-code inspection
- NSF-approved interior surfaces built for direct food contact.
- A digital controller that puts the set-point in plain view for the inspector.
- Proper drainage and a sealed, food-safe insulated box.
- Licensed and insured on every unit we put on the road.
One caveat we always state plainly: we supply the food-safe, temperature-holding hardware itself, but we are not a temperature-logging or alarm-monitoring service. If your program requires continuous written records, line that vendor up on your own.
Three Trailer Sizes, and How to Pick Yours
Our signature 16 foot Utility series leads the fleet, the trailer we deploy on most jobs and the one with the side utility access door that crews love. We offer three footprints in all, from a one-kitchen overflow up to distribution and disaster-scale capacity. Every unit is dual-purpose by design, a single adjustable system that swings between freezer and refrigerator on a precise digital set-point, and each one lives on either a dedicated circuit or a generator.
| Trailer | Best for | Temp range |
|---|---|---|
| 6x16 Utility ⭐ | Our signature series: distribution, large events, disaster response, side utility door | Heavy-duty reefer |
| 6x12 | Grocers, caterers, mid-size events | Deep-freeze capable |
| 6x8 | Tight lots, small kitchens, short overflow | -10°F to 50°F |
Each unit holds a precise digital set-point and runs on a dedicated 120V/20A circuit or a generator.
6x8, the compact pick for tight retail lots
Think eight or so pallet spots, and the unit to grab when square footage is the whole problem. It slips into the pinched service yards and cramped back-of-house corners that a larger box cannot even swing into. One cafe or small-market walk-in goes down, and this is almost always enough cold to cover it, plus the simplest unit to set in a small space.
6x12, the everyday pick for grocers and caterers
Call it fourteen pallet spots, deep-freeze rated, and far and away the size people ask for most. It lands right in the middle: roomy enough for a multi-day catering job or a restaurant that needs true walk-in-equivalent room while the kitchen is torn up. Roomy enough that nobody is playing Tetris with shelves, yet still small enough to set in most commercial back lots without a site survey.
6x16, the heavy hauler for distribution and disaster
Roughly twenty pallet spots paired with a heavy-duty reefer plant engineered to keep deep-freeze locked in even when the ambient air is merciless. Reach for it when a warehouse bay drops, when a large festival needs an anchor, or when a relief operation is carrying its own cold chain.
Not sure which size fits? Most customers land on the 16 foot Utility, and we will tell you honestly if a smaller footprint covers your job. Tell us roughly what you are storing and for how long, and we will spec it for you.
More Eden Cold-Storage Rental Questions
The questions that surface once the basics are settled. Tap any topic to open it.
Freezer trailer vs. portable walk-in vs. reefer truck. Which should you rent?
The pop-up walk-in cooler. Cheap to rent and easy to set up, but it chills, it does not freeze, and it draws every watt it needs from your building while depending on a calm ambient temperature around it. The second your building loses power, your cooler loses it too.
The refrigerated box truck. Designed to haul product on the interstate, not to sit in a lot and babysit it. Parked, it idles fuel all day, broadcasts compressor noise across a storefront or an event lawn, and pins down a tractor plus a driver you probably do not need.
The freezer trailer we deliver. Built from the ground up to be dropped on a pad and to defend a temperature for as long as the job runs. It freezes deep, carries NSF approval, locks, stays quiet near guests, and lives on nothing more than one dedicated circuit or a generator.
NSF build quality and health-code compliance
Even a rented box has to satisfy the county environmental health office that licenses and inspects every food facility. Show an inspector a unit that cannot document its temperature or was not built for food contact, and they have the authority to halt service immediately.
That is a bar each of our trailers clears: NSF-approved throughout, food-safe interior surfaces, proper drainage, and a digital controller that puts the set-point in plain view. We supply the food-safe, temperature-holding hardware itself, but we are not a temperature-logging or alarm-monitoring service.
Multi-trailer setups for distribution and large operations
For a typical kitchen or market, one box does the job. Distribution floors, big fairs, and full-scale disaster response routinely need more, and because the fleet is ours, we can cluster several units and bring them online in waves as the work expands. Match the cold capacity to the operation rather than make the operation squeeze itself into one box.
Short-term emergency vs. long-term and contract storage
The clock is yours to set. Some jobs are a handful of days for an emergency or a single event. Others stretch across weeks or months for a remodel or a seasonal swell, and a few become standing contracts for businesses that want capacity parked on standby. Name your window and you will get a clean quote, no penalty for an honest "not sure yet."
Renting vs. building permanent cold storage
Building permanent cold storage is a capital project in every sense: you hire a refrigeration contractor, schedule the electrical, pull a building permit, and wait weeks before a single pallet goes inside. A rental turns that equation on its head. You bring in precisely the cold you need, for precisely the stretch you need it, and the trailer is holding temperature that same week, frequently that same day, with the commitment ending the moment your need is over.
How a trailer holds deep-freeze in triple-digit heat
Three engineered elements carry the load. Thick insulated panels and tightly gasketed doors lock the sun outside and the cold inside. A self-contained reefer condensing system specified with surplus capacity keeps stripping heat out of the box even when the air outside is brutal. And a digital thermostat locks onto your chosen number and cycles the compressor to hold the line. Run those three together and a trailer baking on open asphalt behaves like one tucked in a cool warehouse. That is also why power is the first thing we ask about: the design delivers its safety margin only on steady, uninterrupted power.
The Rest of the Eden Reviews
"Very happy with the trailer and the customer service. I had not realized my site needed a dedicated circuit until hours before delivery, and instead of making it my problem they swapped the order to a generator unit on the spot. That is the kind of company you rebook."
Yarelii E. · catering owner, Ogden"Driver was helpful and got it placed exactly where I needed. Thanks for the service."
Lawrence A. · food truck owner, Ogden Valley"The unit kept every bit of our event dinner cold and the pickup was painless. Definitely recommend for a big gathering."
Bernadette L. · party host, Eden"Ran my booth off it all weekend, very clean and zero issues, 10/10 would rent again."
Maricela C. · event vendor, Huntsville"The refrigerated trailer quietly changed how smoothly our wedding weekend ran. Our caterer had real cold storage steps from the tent instead of coolers scattered everywhere, the delivery landed right on schedule, and the unit looked well kept enough to park in the photos."
Jeffrey W. · groom, Ogden Valley"I was at a mountain event that used one of these trailers and asked the crew where it came from. Booked the same thing for my own company party two months later. Clean, cold, easy. Nice company to deal with."
Heather A. · guest turned customer, Ogden"Just want to give these guys a shout out for getting a unit to my son's graduation party. We had over 40 people up at the house and my biggest worry was food sitting out in the sun all afternoon. Ice cream stayed frozen until the last kid left."
Mey D. · parent, Eden bench"Service is great, the trailer was clean and really cold, and they genuinely make sure you are taken care of. I recommend this to anyone who needs mobile cold storage. You will not be disappointed."

Eden Freezer & Refrigerated Trailer Rental FAQ
How fast can you deliver to Eden, and what does my site need ready?
Same-day delivery is normal for the valley and emergency drops move a lot faster than that. Before we arrive, you need three things: a reasonably level parking spot, clearance for the rear door to swing fully open, and a power answer. That answer is either a dedicated 120V, 20 amp circuit within 100 feet of where the trailer will sit, or our generator. Tell us which when you book and the drop takes minutes.
Can one trailer run frozen and refrigerated at the same time?
No, each trailer holds one temperature at a time. The unit is dual-mode, so you set it anywhere from 50 above to 10 below zero, but the whole box holds that single setpoint. Renters who need both, like a caterer holding frozen desserts and fresh dairy, take two smaller units instead of one big one. It costs less than people expect and it removes every compromise.
How do I load it? Are there ramps, racks, or shelving?
The rear door opens to ground-level loading and we can set up ramp access for carts and hand trucks at delivery. Shelving and racking options are available if you are storing cases rather than pallets, just tell us what you are holding when you book. Most kitchen crews roll their existing speed racks straight in, which makes an emergency transfer very fast.
What actually changes the cost of a rental?
Five things, roughly in order: how long you keep it, where the trailer has to go and in what season, whether it runs on your circuit or our generator, when you book against peak demand, and how many units you need. A midweek shoulder-season rental on shore power sits at one end of that range. A generator placement at a mountain base in a holiday week sits at the other. Call or request a quote and we price your exact combination, no games.
How far ahead should I reserve for summer or ski season?
For a July or August wedding weekend, or any December through March holiday stretch, reserve as soon as you have the date, ideally a couple of months out. Those are the weeks the whole valley wants cold at once. Shoulder-season and midweek rentals can usually be covered on short notice. Emergencies jump every queue, we always hold response ability for a dead walk-in.
Is a loaded trailer safe sitting on an open lot overnight?
Yes, and this is something we build for rather than hope about. Every unit has locking doors with a hasp for your own padlock, and you control who holds keys. We advise placing the door side toward a wall or fence line, under lighting where the site has it. In years of valley placements, a locked unit on a sensible spot has simply not been a problem.
Will it hold temperature through a heat wave or a cold snap?
That is the whole product. In 90 degree summer sun the unit cycles harder and recovers after door openings, so we coach crews to stage their loads and open the door less often, but the setpoint holds. In a below-zero January snap the same machine warms as needed so refrigerated product does not freeze solid, which surprises people. Set it once and it sits there, whatever the sky is doing.
How are trailers cleaned between renters? Is it food-safe?
Every unit gets washed and sanitized to food-contact standard between rentals, interior walls, floor, door seals, all of it. Interiors are sealed, washable surfaces, not bare wood or carpet. If your health inspector or corporate food-safety team wants to see the unit before you load it, we encourage exactly that. Clean is not a promise here, it is a checklist.
Does the Ogden Canyon vehicle limit affect delivery to Eden?
It affects how we route, not whether you get your trailer. UDOT barred vehicles longer than 50 feet from Ogden Canyon in September 2025 because long rigs cannot hold their lane in the tight curves. Our drivers plan valley deliveries over I-84 and Trappers Loop when the combination runs long, and we time drops around the SR-158 roadwork windows. You just pick the spot. The route is our job.
Can I rent a trailer for game meat during the October hunt?
Yes, and October is one of our favorite valley seasons. A unit set in the mid 30s hangs and chills deer and elk properly while you process at your own pace, which beats racing warm weather with coolers of ice. Camps, small processors, and families who fill several tags together all do this. Book before the rifle opener, the hunt weeks go fast.
What should a business do about planned power outages in the valley?
Take the notice seriously and get cold storage lined up before the date. Valley outages tend to hit everyone at once because the transmission path runs through one canyon, so waiting until the morning of means competing with every other kitchen in town. A generator-powered trailer staged the day before turns a scheduled outage into a non-event. We have covered these for businesses here and the load-out usually takes under an hour.

How much fits in a freezer trailer? A sizing walkthrough for valley kitchens and caterers
The most common planning mistake we see in Eden is not renting too small. It is guessing instead of counting. Cold storage sizing is arithmetic, and ten minutes with a notepad beats every rule of thumb we have ever heard. Here is how we walk a first-time renter through it on the phone.
Start with what you actually store, in the units you actually handle. A restaurant thinks in cases and speed racks. A caterer thinks in hotel pans and sheet trays. A hunter thinks in quarters. Count your real load on your busiest week, not an average week, because the trailer earns its keep on the busy week. Write the number down. People who skip this step rent on vibes and call us later to upgrade.

The Ogden Valley outage playbook: keeping inventory cold when the lines go down
Power in this valley has a single point of failure, and everyone who runs a compressor here knows it. The lines come up the canyon. When utility crews work that corridor, or weather takes a pole, thousands of meters go dark together, and every walk-in, reach-in, and display case in the valley starts the same countdown at the same minute. This is the playbook we give our own customers for that moment.
First, know your real numbers. Federal guidance says a closed refrigerator protects food for about 4 hours, a full freezer for about 48 hours, and a half-full freezer for about 24. Those numbers assume the door stays shut, and they shrink fast every time someone peeks. Tape them inside your office cabinet now, while the power is on.

From ridgeline to freezer: a hunter's cold chain guide for the Monte Cristo country
Every October, the country east of this valley fills with camps, and every November, a certain number of those camps come home with meat that got ruined between the shot and the freezer. It is the most preventable loss in hunting, and the fix is the same cold-chain thinking a restaurant uses, applied in the field. Here is the version we share with the hunters who rent from us.
Heat is the enemy, and the clock starts immediately. Field-dressed game needs its body heat gone fast, and an animal quartered and hung in cool moving air chills far better than one left whole. The dangerous window is any stretch where meat sits above 40 degrees, the same threshold every commercial kitchen lives by. October in northern Utah can serve you a 70 degree afternoon without apology, and a warm afternoon on a tailgate does more damage than most hunters believe.

Freezer trailer or walk-in build-out? The honest math for mountain kitchens
Sooner or later every growing food business in a place like Eden faces the same question: keep renting cold storage, or pour concrete and build more walk-in? We rent trailers for a living, so you would expect our answer to be rent, forever, everyone. It is not. The honest answer depends on three numbers, and we would rather you run them than guess.
Number one is how many weeks a year you are actually full. A kitchen that runs out of cold space 52 weeks a year is a build-out candidate, full stop. A kitchen that overflows for ski season, wedding season, and the holidays, maybe 20 weeks total, is paying for empty steel the other 32 weeks if it builds. Most valley businesses we serve are seasonal to their bones. Count your overflow weeks honestly before anything else.
